Some predict that commercially-viable autonomous cars will be available by the year 2020. Others cast doubt on it and believe that true autonomy will not be ready by 2030. Whenever it will be the advent of the autonomous car will have a major impact on video game culture. Once car racing games were thrilling and easy-to-use. Try one of these: Test Drive II, Lotus - The Ultimate Challenge.

But how will the game genre look like in the future? What is the use of a car racing game if there is nothing to steer? What will be the main game elements? Will such games still attract a lot of players or will self-driving cars cause the death of a whole genre?

The game was developed by Patrick Quell, Oliver Feucht, Konstantin Wacker and Tobias Klingel as part of their studies in computer science at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences. Jens Dobberthin (info@hausgazette.org) initiated and supervised the project with the help of Jian Wu.
